Easy Strategy
"Strategy is the great work of the Mind. In a life and death situation it is the pathway to survival or extinction. Its study cannot be ignored"
Sun Tzu the Art of Strategy

Thinking several moves ahead
A strategy is a "conscious" and systematic approach to winning over life's challenges and achieving one's objectives. Strategy is not for reactionaries but for "conscious" and thinking people.

It is based on certain economic and / or social realities and teaches us how to use simple mathematics and basic psychology to calculate our possibilities and to understand and persuade our colleagues, associates or clients.

It also teaches the skills for taking advantage of opportunities - A strategic position has five definitive elements.

The Strategic Mission Statement
Unites you with all the people around you to share in your goals and objectives.

The Climate
Indicates changes that may takes place and provide you with the opportunities to advance your position.

The Environment
Is the arena in which you compete.

Leadership Challenges
Are the tools that you must develop to enhance your decision making processes and leadership qualities.

The Methods
Is the discipline that you apply to the particular situation, Understanding your position in any situation and progressing this position over time is the only certain way of success.

Who gains from ISO 9000 ?
ISO is a Standard which demonstrates that a Company has been assessed by a DTI Approved Certification Body - such as BSI or National Quality Assurance or SGS Yarsley.  Attaining this Standard shows to Clients that the Company maintains a high standard of management control and operation.
It therefore has two major advantages - It helps a Company's Marketing Profile and provides an additional USP, while at the same time the Implementation improves the Operational Effectiveness and Control.

What are the changes ?? Essentially the Revised Standard places even more emphasis on Client requirements and satisfaction. It also moves the wording from its manufacturing origins to wider service operations, by placing emphasis on your "Business Processes".

What do I have to do ?? NOTHING, for the moment. The final version of the New Standard is still under revision, and the final DRAFT has only just been issued. TRICEP is being kept in touch with these revisions and the requirements of the new Standard. This will mean that WHEN it is clear exactly what the new Standard requires, TRICEP will be able to suggest the most effective way to revise and enhance your current Quality Systems Manual and Documents with the minimum of effort.
The Managing Director has wide experience as a Management Consultant within a number of major corporations. In addition, there are a number of Associate Consultants who are retained and may be called in as advisers because of their specialist technical or commercial backgrounds and knowledge of specific industry sectors.

Changing Standards - ISO9000 - 2000 The REVISED Standard was brought in at the end of 2000, but there will be a three year "transition" period to let Companies make any revisions requi, to December 2001, but many Companies are already introducing the changes. And ghave achieved Registration to the NEW Standard.
Why has the standard been changed? All International Standards are reviewed every 5 or 6 years. It has been decided that ISO 9000-1994 is an excellent Standard, but needs some revisions to bring it into the 21st century.

Does this effect my Documentation ?? The New Standard will have FOUR major Sections, and these will address many of the requirements of the current Standard. There are however, some revisions to wording and the requirement. This will mean that the Quality Manual may require a change in the format to show how these Four Sections and their subsections are addressed. Your Procedures should require very little revisions if they already describe your Business Processes.
